Youth Worker

Primary Objective of the Role
As a youth worker you will be at the forefront of our mission to provide high-quality mentoring services to a young people across all our programs
Tasks & responsibilities
Plan, facilitate and coordinate Youth Programs and events, including the preparation and development of supporting resources.
Maintain professional case notes – including Session Plans, Session notes and applicable mandatory reporting
Ensuring programs meet targets and objectives and reviews evaluative data to inform practice
Liaise and maintains relationships with all key stakeholders
Align and apply professional frameworks of practice and approaches to all programs
Demonstrating outstanding teamwork and aligning personal and professional values
Participate positively in professional supervision and team meetings
Engaging in continuous training, praxis cycle and professional development
Uphold cultural practices and processes
Ensure all activities delivered are aligned and uphold the Charis vision, mission and values and comply with all Policies and procedures
Qualifications & experience
Qualification in youth work, social work or related field is highly regarded and/or other relevant work experience
At least 2 years experience in a similar role.
Working with Childrens Card (Vic)
Current Australian Driver’s License
First Aid Certificate plus CPR Certificate
National Police Check (no older than 12 months)
Key Selection Criteria
Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in delivering mentoring sessions with young people in community group and youth justice settings
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with Pasifika families and communities
Strong written and verbal communication skills including case note writing
Proven experience in ethical decision-making and self-directed management
Demonstrates ability to work well within a team
